Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens Executive Director Awarded Highest Honor

Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens Executive Director, David Kupecky was awarded the prestigious Blue Spirit Award during the Northeast Regional conference in Washington, DC.

The Blue Spirit Award is the highest honor bestowed by the President of the Boys & Girls Club of America to a deserving local club leader in their region. The award recognizes leaders who have demonstrated what it truly means to be a Club and community leader and have gone above and beyond to drive impact and make a difference.

“Dave deserves this award! He has helped me reach my goals and continues to help all the Club kids understand there is no limit to what they can achieve,” said Maria Cruz, BGCMQ alumni and one of many club members who consider David a mentor.

Joining the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens in 2014, David has made remarkable strides in transforming the Club into the premier youth-serving organization in the Queens borough. Under his leadership and vision, BGCMQ has grown from two sites serving about 900 annually to a movement that expands across 8 sites, touching the lives of over 5,000 young people each year. As a lifelong educator, David brings his passion to see young people excel by providing mentorship, college, and career guidance, and ensuring young people are prepared for success throughout college and beyond.
