Triple Play Sports: Leading a Healthy Lifestyle
This national initiative takes a holistic approach to educating boys and girls about good nutrition, making physical fitness a daily practice and developing individual strengths and good character. The Triple Play Daily Challenges are a series of non-competitive yet challenging programs that encourage Boys & Girls Club members ages 6 to 18 to increase their physical fitness. The Daily Challenges are conducted year-round and are used to keep members involved and having fun while staying fit.
We use these activities in order to introduce members to different sports in a non-competitive form which allows for a more relaxed and fun atmosphere. Club members are introduced to basketball, flag football, soccer, track and field, floor hockey, volleyball and fitness on regular 8 to 10 week curriculums. In these curriculums they are informed on the importance of proper nutrition and hydration as well as the importance of proper warm ups and cool downs which include stretching and cardiovascular exercise.
Our Intramural Sports League offers non-competitive sports, such as Flag Football, Jr. NBA, and Soccer. Each program is designed to maintain an inclusive and equal play environment that promotes physical fitness while introducing members to fun new ways of achieving a healthy lifestyle.
