TEEN CENTER

The CLUB empowers teens to find their VOICE and achieve success through after-school experiences rooted in what matters most to them – CHOICE, ACCESS and PASSION.

KARMAN LIPSCOMB, TEEN DIRECTOR

“Our Teen programs are dynamic and create opportunities that not only enrich their lives but also empowers high school students to explore their passions and develop essential life skills. From financial literacy to our college tours, the Club is designed to place teens on the path toward successful adulthood.”

Youth of the Year Program

Youth of the Year is the Club’s Teen leadership development and recognition program and the highest honor bestowed on a Club member. The program focuses on academic excellence, a commitment to a healthy lifestyle, and leadership service to the community. Once selected, the Youth of the Year will serve as Club ambassador, receive a college scholarship, and become a voice and representative of hope for all Boys & Girls Club of Metro Queens youth.

COLLEGE PREP

From freshman to Senior year, the goal of the College Prep program is to help Teens successfully transition from high school to college. From college tours and SAT prep classes, navigating financial support for college applications to scholarship opportunities, and helping first-generation families, we support you through the college application and acceptance process.

Workforce Readiness

Our Workforce Readiness program is designed to prepare students for a life after high school. Now more than ever, it is critical for young people to develop the skills and experiences that will prepare them for the many life paths available to them.

Our program closes the opportunity gap by providing young people with summer jobs, internships with partnering local companies, career counseling, mentorship from professionals in their field of interest, and other valuable skills that will benefit them as they enter the workforce.

UPS ROAD CODE

UPS Road Code program educates Teens on safe driving techniques based on the training UPS uses for its own motor vehicle operators, who are among the safest drivers worldwide.

MONEY MATTERS

Money Matters, our financial literacy program, empowers youth to make informed financial decisions now and in the future. As youth progress through the program, they learn how to create a budget, access their credit report, and plan for larger financial decisions, like college.

Multiple times a year, we bring youth an interactive financial literacy workshop (The Reality Store) that challenges teens to set goals, develop budgets, and make informed financial decisions based on changes in career, family size, and geographic areas.
